“It is a lie that Kosovo is a unique case, double standards will lead us into chaos”, said Russian President Vladimir Putin.

At an annual press-conference, held in Russia’s capitol, the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin pointed out that USA and EU support of the unilateral proclamation of Kosovo’s independence is immoral, illegal and that Russia will take certain counter-measures.

“Russia will not be doing the same things as the West. If someone makes a bad decision, we do not have to do the same. It will only be a signal for us to react accordingly to this behavior of our Western partners, in order to protect our interests.

Aren’t Europeans ashamed because of the fact that they are using double standards in treating the same problems in different parts of the world? The Republic of North Cyprus exists for almost 40 years. Why don’t you Europeans recognize this country, aren’t you ashamed of your double standards? This will lead us into chaos”, Putin answered when asked by a German journalist how Russia will react in the Security Council of the UN considering Kosovo.

Russian President also mentioned the cases of Abkhazia, Southern Osetia, and Prydnestrovie.

“All the time we are being told that Kosovo is a unique case. It is a lie, there is no such thing as a unique case, and everybody knows this. A united effort must be made, in order to discourage separatism, and that is what Russia wants. There are also people in Spain who do not want to live in that country. Why don’t USA and EU show them some support, or maybe support the Northern Irish in their quarrel with Great Britain? If we continue in this way, the whole international law will collapse”, Putin concluded.
